Fury (28-0-1) scored his 20th professional knockout when he trounced unheralded Tom Schwarz in front of a near-sellout crowd inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, stopping him in the second round. The hulking “Gypsy King” used his tremendous hand speed to befuddle his foe from the start and outclassed him badly before stopping him.

Fury fought in a conventional stance throughout the first and picked apart Schwarz (24-1, 16 KO) with a Gatlin gun-like jab and controlled the distance. Schwarz continuously walked right at the Brit, though he never cut off the ring and it cost him.

Fury switched to a southpaw stance in the second and busted the German up with the right jab and then sent him to the canvas with a blistering combo of punches to head. Once back on his feet, Schwarz, bleeding badly from his nose, never stopped trying to turn the tides on the Englishman. But when Schwarz missed his desperate punches, Fury busted him up again, trapped him in a corner and unloaded a volley of punches to his counterpart until referee Kenny Bayless had no choice but to intervene.

The end came officially at 2:54 of the second. After his conquest, Fury called out Wilder; their rematch is penciled in for early 2020. Advertisement
