Triller Acquires Fite.TV Ahead of Ben Askren-Jake Paul Boxing Pay-Per-View Event

TrillerNet, the parent company of social app Triller, announced on
Wednesday that it has acquired combat-sports and entertainment
streaming platform Fite.TV.

The news comes in advance of Saturday’s boxing match between former
Bellator champion Ben Askren and social media star Jake Paul, which
is available on Fite for $49.99. The pay-per-view draw begins at 9
p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT and also includes a boxing bout pitting ex-UFC
heavyweight king Frank Mir against Steve Cunningham.

The fight card is promoted by Triller Fight Club. According to a
release, the acquisition ” gives Triller a major foothold in the
live-event PPV and streaming space, greatly expanding the reach of
Triller’s fast-growing AI-powered content and distribution
ecosystem and allowing the company to continue to invest in new
lifestyle and entertainment programming.”

“Fite has been a fantastic partner, and the synergy between the two
businesses and teams was clear from day one,” read a
joint-statement from Triller co-owners Bobby Sarnevesht and Ryan
Kavanaugh. “With our acquisition of Fite, we bring into TrillerNET
their stellar technology, valuable customer and content partner
base, and one of the most experienced executive teams in this
space. The deal represents our ambitions to not only expand Triller
Fight Club and grow FITE’s distribution relationships, but also to
reimagine what, how and when premium music, sports and
entertainment is delivered to today’s audiences.”

Triller is utilized by musicians, athletes and others to provide
“specialized opportunities for major brands across music, sports,
entertainment, fashion and pop culture.”

“With over 10 million users, Fite is the perfect long-form platform
for Triller to continue releasing its cultural content spanning
fighting, sports, fashion, music and pop culture,” added Kavanaugh.
“We have officially completed our 360-degree content engine with
this acquisition.”

Per a release, Fite boasts more than 10 million users and four
million registered sports and entertainment fans. In recent years
Fite has partnered with multiple organizations such as Top Rank,
PBC, ONE Championship, Golden Boy Promotions, Matchroom Boxing,
Rizin, KSW and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships to stream events
across its platform.

According to Triller, Oscar De Hoya is expected to return from
retirement to fight at a July 3 event that will be streamed on
Fite.
