in 2020 after a bad weight cut has been put back together for the
summer. On Thursday,
Combate reported that Karol Rosa
(14-3) and Sijara
Eubanks (6-6) are slated to meet at UFC 263
on June 12. The two were previously booked against one another at
UFC Fight Night 176 in September 2020, but Rosa was hospitalized
due to her failed weight cut. The bantamweight matchup was later
confirmed by
other outlets.
Eubanks will be looking to lift her record above .500 and snap a
two-fight skid where she lost to Ketlen
Vieira and Pannie
Kianzad in the last few months. “SarJ” competed four times in
2020, beating Sarah Moras
and Julia Avila
before dropping two to the aforementioned Vieira and Kianzad. The
New Jersey native has gone the distance in 10 of her 12 career
bouts, including each of her last nine outings.
Rosa recovered from her rough weight cut to hand Josalyne Edwards a
decision loss in February. The Brazilian is currently riding a
five-fight win streak, which includes three inside the Octagon all
by decision, defeating Lara
Procopio and Vanessa
Melo as well on her way up. Rosa serves as a major training
partner to former strawweight queen Jessica
Andrade at
Parana Vale Tudo.
UFC 263 goes down on June 12 at a currently undetermined location,
and the headliner may come in a rematch between Deiveson
Figueiredo and Brandon
Moreno. Also on the card is a featherweight clash as Hakeem
Dawodu meets the unbeaten Movsar
Evloev, while Fares Ziam
and Luigi
Vendramini square off at lightweight.
