A welterweight matchup pitting Shavkat
Rakhmonov against Carlston
Harris is on tap for an Ultimate Fighting Championship card on
Feb. 5.
The
Freak MMA Instagram page was first to report the welterweight
booking. The event does not yet have an official location or
headliner.
Kazakhstan’s Rakhmonov is unbeaten in his first 14 professional
appearances — including victories in UFC competition. The fighter
known as “Nomad” debuted with a first-round submission of Alex
Oliveira at UFC 254 before tapping out Michel
Prazeres with a rear-naked choke in his most recent outing at
UFC Fight Night 190 on June 26. The Kazakhstan Top Team product has
finished all of his triumphs inside the distance.
Harris enters the matchup on a five-bout winning streak. That run
includes a pair of victories in the Octagon: a first-round
submission of Christian
Aguilera at UFC on ESPN 24 and a first-round TKO of Impa
Kasanganay at UFC Fight Night 192. The 34-year-old Guyana
native is 17-4 over the course of a professional tenure that began
in 2011.
