Senshi 10 was highlighted by a pretty spectacular KO at the top of
the bill.
The card was headlined by a non-title 176-pound affair that saw
WAKO PRO K1 World titleholder Sergej Braun clash with
European Champion ISKA K1 Assane Bafeta. A short-notice replacement
for Nikola Todorovic, Bafeta proved to be in good shape as he
attacked Braun with plenty of front kicks in Round 1. In his
attempts to close the distance, Braun landed with his punches on
the Frenchman. The German champion didn’t seem to have much impact
in the opening frame, but it was enough to get his opponent’s
attention.
In Round 2, Bafeta charged with front kicks as Braun moved in and
out of his opponent’s guard. Midway through the round, Braun caught
Bafeta with a short left hook to the temple, making the Frenchman
collapse instantly. Even though Bafeta surged back to his feet
during the subsequent counting, the referee deemed that he was
unable to continue after checking his status. In addition to
racking up his fifth victory in as many appearances under Senshi’s
banner, Braun scored his second Senshi KO win, the first one by
punches. His performance was rewarded with a “F‘ighter With Most
Technique”’bonus.
The co-main event featured a heavyweight clash between WAKO PRO K-1
European titleholder Ahmed Krnjic and Slovakian K-1 champion
Radovan Kulla. Krnjic looked focused and displayed more accurate
striking than his opponent right out of the gate, as he scored
repeatedly with solid leg kicks. Kulla never was competitive and
looked off balance for most of the clash, perhaps due to some
issues with the canvas. Overall, the fight offered little action
for the fans, but it was enough for Krnjic to outrun his opponent
on the scorecards, bouncing back from his defeat at Senshi 8.
Elsewhere, Nikola Filipovic overpowered Danylo Voievodkin with a
powerful left hand in the the first stanza, ultimately earning a
unanimous decision.
Earlier, Ruben Garcia vanquished Andrey Chekhonin on the scorecards
after an extra round; Alexander Petrov stopped Filip Sekulovic with
a series of leg kicks in the second round of their 176-pound
contest, taking home the “‘nockout of the Night”’bonus; in front of
a partisan crowd, Eduard Aleksanyan defeated Pavel Turuk via
unanimous decision; Atanas Bozhilov overcame Philipp Hafeli on
points in a 165-pound contest; in a 155-pound affair, Romanian
Tudor Potoroaca outpointed Dragomir Petrov on all three scorecards
after the extra round.
In the first 155-pound clash of the bill, the highly-touted
Bulgarian prospect Petar Stoykov upended Joao Pedro Silva with a
unanimous decision.
