Masvidal
’s Gamebred Boxing promotion paid out nearly $3 million

The top salary figure from the event came for headliner Roy Jones
Jr. ($700,000), who dropped a majority decision to Anthony
Pettis
($650,000) in the main attraction. While the fight was
Pettis’ pro boxing debut, it was the 54-year-old Jones Jr.’s 76th
and first since 2018. The two discussed a rematch after the match
concluded, although Jones Jr. might elect to return to retirement
instead.

The majority of the competitors featured flat show purse contracts
rather than win provisions, including all of the fighters on the
main card. Ultimately, six different participants cleared
six-figure salaries, with Jose Aldo the
next highest after his draw with Jeremy
Stephens
. The former UFC featherweight kingpin took home
$425,000 for the majority draw, while “Lil Heathen” pocketed
$200,000 and called for the two to run it back.

Other noteworthy amounts including the co-main attraction
combatants, ex-UFC greats Vitor
Belfort
($400,000) and Ronaldo
Souza
($200,000) who battled it out for six hard rounds. “The
Phenom” emerged victorious to push his pro boxing record to 2-0.
Former UFC athlete Pearl
Gonzalez
also took home a $50,000 check despite losing a
decision to Gina Mazany,
with the Alaskan receiving just $10,000 for beating Gonzalez.
