According to a report from
ESPN
, the UFC and the Nevada State Athletic Commission
determined that Krause should not be cornering fighters while the
UFC Fight Night 214 bout between Darrick
Minner
and Nuerdanbieke
Shayilan
— which he cornered — is still
under investigation
by betting integrity firm U.S. Integrity.
However, Krause was not suspended by the UFC as Johns indicated in
a post-fight interview.

Minner vs. Shayilan attracted attention when the betting line
shifted significantly toward Shayilan in the hours leading up to
the fight, including a significant amount of wagering on the
Chinese fighter to win inside of a round. Shayilan won the Nov. 5
bout via first-round TKO 67 seconds into Round 1 after a hobbled
Minner clutched at his left leg early in the fight. It was later
revealed that Minner may have been injured going into the fight,
something for which he may face discipline from the NSAC for not
disclosing the ailment ahead of time.

In addition to U.S. Integrity, the Minner-Shayilan fight is under
investigation by the UFC’s betting integrity partner.

“The wagering activity around the Darrick
Minner
and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke bout from Nov. 5 remains under
review by our betting integrity partner Don Best Sports,” the UFC
said in a statement to ESPN on Saturday. “At this time, we have no
information that either of the athletes involved in the bout, or
anyone associated with their teams, was involved in any
wrongdoing.”

Krause is a person of interest in the investigation not only
because of his role as Minner’s coach and cornerman, but because he
is a prominent figure in the MMA gambling world with a wagering
podcast and a Discord channel with betting tips.

According to the report, the New Jersey Division of Gambling
Enforcement sent a notice to the state’s sports books instructing
them not to offer betting on any fight involving Krause “as a
coach, trainer, promoter or fighter.” Krause has not publicly
commented on the situation.
