Two European fighters will join two-time Olympic
gold medalist Kayla
Harrison
in 2022. The
Professional Fighters League
2021 Season isn’t over yet, but
the orginization is already planning its next move. On Wednesday
morning, the PFL announced that sambo world champion Marina
Mokhnatkina
and former ISKA K-1 kickboxing queen Martina
Jindrova
would participate in the women’s 155-pound division in
the 2022 season. The roster also includes Harrison and Larissa
Pacheco
, among the names fighting for the $1 million prize.

“We are very excited to bring two women of this caliber into our
women’s lightweight division,” said PFL President of Fighter
Operations Ray Sefo in a
press release. “The goal has been to elevate our roster each year
and that will be the case once again in 2022. These signings, along
with others we already have in the pipeline will show the
commitment we have to building an even stronger roster for the
coming Season.”

Bellator
MMA
vet Mokhnatkina (5-2, 0-0 PFL) will make her PFL debut
featuring a victory over Amanda Bell
in her latest fight. That night, the Russian fighter upended Bell
thanks to a unanimous decision at Bellator 260.

Jindrova (3-1, 0-0 PFL) has recently suffered her first defeat
after losing a decision to Tamires
Vidal
in her latest cage appearance. The loss snapped a
three-bout winning streak that included two first-round
stoppages.

This year’s women’s lightweight playoffs will see Harrison taking
on Genah
Fabian
while Pacheco will tangle with Taylor
Guardado
. Both athletes will compete on the upcoming PFL 8
card, which will go down on Aug. 19. That same event will feature
the heavyweight semifinals. Advertisement
