Fight fans South of the Border will now be able to get their
Professional Fighters League fix in Spanish.
The PFL on Wednesday announced a multi-year broadcast partnership
with Fox Sports Mexico to air all of the organizationâs franchises:
PFL World Tournament, Champions Series, PFL Europe, PFL MENA, PFL
Africa and the PFL fight library. Fox Sports Mexico will also carry
PFL programming such as pre- and post-fight shows, press
conferences and weigh-ins. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
All content will be broadcast in Spanish.
Fox Sports Mexico airs a variety sporting events including soccer,
NFL, MLB, UFC and Formula 1 racing. According to PFL CEO Peter
Murray, the agreement could serve as a precursor to the promotion
launching a league in Latin America in the near future.
âWe are thrilled to announce our partnership with Fox Sports
Mexico,â Murray said in a release. âMuch like the PFL, Fox Sports
Mexico has been a trailblazer in the mixed martial arts space, and
together, we are committed to bringing world-class MMA to fans
across Mexico and Latin America. With our roster of elite Latin
American fighters continuing to grow, this partnership marks just
the beginning of our expansion in one of the fastest-growing
regions in the sport. As we build toward the future, we are
exploring exciting opportunities to further elevate MMA in the
region, including the potential launch of a PFL Latin America
league as early as next year.â
The deal will begin the start of the
PFL World Tournament on April 3. The event takes place at
Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and features first-round
matchups at welterweight and featherweight. The eveningâs featured
bout is a 170-pound clash between Jason
Jackson and Andrey
Koreshkov.
