Manager: Conor McGregor Eyeing Michael Chandler at UFC 300

Conor
McGregor
’s manager, Audie Attar, recently revealed that they
are pushing hard for the Irishman’s return at UFC 300 min April
2024.

rehabbing from a broken leg he suffered in a trilogy clash against

Attar revealed that the team is doing their best to make McGregor’s
return possible at UFC 300, although the former two-division champ
would jump into the Octagon next weekend if he could.

“If it was up to him, he’d be fighting Saturday, so ultimately
we’re just trying to make sure we’re doing everything right and
following all the standard operating procedures to get him back in
the octagon as soon as possible,” Attar told MMA Junkie on Friday at the World MMA
Awards
. “UFC 300 would be amazing, and obviously we’re pushing
as hard as we can to make that happen. Ultimately, it’s going to be
an exciting 2024 for his return.”

McGregor starred opposite Michael
Chandler
as rival coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 31” earlier
this year, with an expected clash planned for the future. But the
Dubliner has since downplayed the possibility of the matchup on
multiple occasions, calling out a horde of other potential
opponents. However, Attar now claims that Chandler remains the most
likely matchup for McGregor with the UFC insistent on the
matchup.

“Look, I think that’s the likeliest opponent. They just did ‘The
Ultimate Fighter’ together, and I think the fans want to see that
fight, but there are other opponents as well. At the end of the
day, the UFC is still keen on Michael Chandler and unless something
changes there, I certainly think that’s who’s going to be.”
