The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first foray into the Czech Republic just received a new lightweight attraction. On Thursday morning, the UFC Europe Twitter page announced that Damir Hadzovic (12-4) and Marco Polo Reyes (8-4) have agreed to meet at UFC on ESPN+ 3 on Feb. 23.
“The Bosnian Bomber” Hadzovic has gone 2-2 under the UFC banner. The Bosnian fighting out of Denmark made his UFC debut in 2016, but was knocked out in the first round by Mairbek Taisumov. Since then, he has bounced back with wins in two of his last three bouts, having defeated Marcin Held and Nick Hein. Half of the Arte Suave Copenhagen representative’s professional wins have come by way of KO/TKO.
Reyes was a semifinalist in the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America. The 34-year-old Mexican fighter has won four of five fights in the UFC, earning bonuses for knockouts in his first two fights with the Nevada-based promotion against Cesar Arzamendia and “Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim. “El Toro” suffered his only loss thus far in UFC competition against James Vick at UFC 211.
UFC on ESPN+ 3, also known as UFC Fight Night 145, takes place on Feb. 23 at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic. It is scheduled to be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between top-10 contenders Jan Blachowicz and Thiago Santos.
