The ban was handed out by UK Anti-Doping, which oversees
anti-doping in the United Kingdom and is compliant with World
Anti-Doping Agency protocols. Glowacki (32-4 in boxing) was banned
after his urine sample reportedly tested positive for Boldenone, an
anabolic androgenic steroid.

Glowacki’s alleged failed test dates back to January 2023,
following his fourth-round Technical Knockout loss to Richard
Riakporhe in Manchester, England. The Polish standout was initially
handed a provisional suspension in April and denied having
knowingly taken any prohibited substance. His case was then heard
on Oct. 31 by the independent National-Anti-Doping Panel, which
arrived at a decision last week.

Glowacki’s provisional suspension didn’t stop him from making his
MMA debut in June at KSW
83
against Patryk
Tolkaczewski
. The 37-year-old
went on to score a jaw-dropping Round 1 knockout from the bottom
position while being fully mounted
.

Glowacki won the WBO title against Marco Huck in 2015 and defended
it once before losing it to current heavyweight champ Oleksandr
Usyk in 2016, which marked his first pro loss in 27 outings.
