KSW Vet David Zawada Replaces Injured Alan Jouban, Meets Danny Roberts at UFC Hamburg

KSW veteran David Zawada will step in on short notice to face Danny Roberts at UFC Fight Night 134 in Hamburg, Germany next weekend.

The promotion announced the new matchup during the UFC Fight Night Boise broadcast. Zawada replaces Alan Jouban, who withdrew from the welterweight bout due to an injured neck. UFC Fight Night 134 takes place at Barclaycard Arena and is headlined by a light heavyweight duel pitting Mauricio Rua against Anthony Smith. The card airs on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

A 27-year-old native of Dusseldorf, Germany, Zawada enters his Octagon debut on a five-bout winning streak in which he has finished four of his opponents. Zawada counts five KSW appearances among his 19 professional bouts and owns notable wins over former UFC competitors Maciej Jewtuszko and Andreas Stahl. The fighter nicknamed “Sagat” owns a 16-3 career mark.

Roberts, meanwhile, has compiled a 4-2 record in the Octagon since 2015. Most recently, “Hot Chocolate” scored a second-round knockout of Oliver Enkamp at UFC Fight Night 127 on March 17.
