Jesse
Arnett will defend his featherweight championship against
Ali
AlQaisi when their rematch headlines
UAE Warriors 33 on Sept. 17 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi,
United Arab Emirates. Meanwhile, Tahir
Abdullaev risks his welterweight crown against Josh Togo in
the co-main event.
Arnett heads in to show on a two-fight winning streak. The
38-year-old Canadian has not competed since he prompted what some
viewed as a controversial doctor stoppage against AlQaisi in the
second round of their UAE Warriors 30 pairing on July 2. Arnett has
delivered 15 of his 20 career victories by knockout, technical
knockout or submission. AlQaisi, meanwhile, has rattled off four
wins in five appearances since being jettisoned by the
Ultimate Fighting Championship following a two-fight stint with
the organization in 2020. His loss to Arnett was his first in
nearly two years.
Elsewhere on the card, decorated muay thai stylist Coline
Biron makes her promotional debut opposite undefeated Turkish
wrestler Aysun Erge
in a womenβs strawweight feature. Erge has not fought since Sept.
8, 2019, her absence from the mixed martial arts stage blamed on
the coronavirus pandemic.
