Jean
Silva is always at his happiest going into a fight because
thatās when he feels the closest to his late brother.
Silva is scheduled to fight Bryce
Mitchell in a featherweight matchup at UFC
314 on Saturday at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. āLordā
recently revealed that there is no question of any ill feelings as
he heads into a fight. Silva shared that he feels closest to the
loved ones he has lost going into a fight, especially his late
brother. The Brazilian feels the happiest during fight night, which
is the same to him as sharing a cup of coffee with his late
brother.
āIn the month of the fight, the week of the fight, and on the day
of the fight, I feel very much the presence of the people I love
who have passed away,ā Silva said in an interview with the UFC. āSo
thereās no way I can feel bad being in a place where I feel the
presence of the people I love. Itās a moment in my life when I feel
closest to my brother who is gone. So being in there for me isā¦
itās like having a chat with him, sitting and having a coffee. So
itās always the happiest day of my life.ā
This isnāt the first time Silva has mentioned his brother. Silva
moved up to lightweight on two weeksā notice and defeated Drew Dober
via doctorās stoppage at UFC Denver last year. In his post-fight
interview, an emotional Silva said that he missed his deceased
brother the most in that moment. Silvaās rise to stardom has been
quick with four stoppages in as many UFC outings.
