The
Ultimate Fighting Championship
will be rolling every weekend
well into December now. The news first breaking from ESPN
on Friday, Jack
Hermansson
(21-5) will be locking horns with Darren Till
(18-3-1) for the middleweight headliner of a
UFC Fight Night card on Dec. 5
. There is no destination
currently set for the event, although it would likely be held at
either Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, or the UFC
Apex in Las Vegas. Although the fight has been made official, Till
will need to have his knee medically cleared in order to compete.
According to ESPN, signs are pointing towards a successful
clearance for Till.

“The Joker” bounced back from a knockout defeat to Jared
Cannonier
with a first-round heel hook of Kelvin
Gastelum
in July. Improving his finish rate to 81 percent with
the submission, the Swede has stopped his opponent in six of his
last seven wins – although each of his last four setbacks also came
inside the distance. Since joining the UFC roster in 2016,
Hermansson has racked up wins over names including Ronaldo
Souza
, Thales
Leites
and David
Branch
.

Till last competed in July as well, where he dropped a five-round
decision to Robert
Whittaker
to lose his first fight as a middleweight. The former
welterweight title challenger moved up to the division and captured
a split verdict over Gastelum to earn a place among the top echelon
at 185 pounds. With his only win in the last two years coming
against Gastelum, “The Gorilla” has been defeated three times in
that stretch by Tyron
Woodley
, Jorge
Masvidal
and Whittaker.
