Frankie Edgar, Chan Sung Jung Booked for November UFC Fight Night Card in Denver

Two Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweights will collide in a pivotal matchup come November, as Frankie Edgar is set to take on Chan Sung Jung in the main event of the UFC’s next stop in Denver on Nov. 10, UFC President Dana White confirmed to ESPN on Friday.

Edgar rebounded from his first ever knockout loss at the hands of Brian Ortega by defeating Cub Swanson for a second time just a month later. Meanwhile, “The Korean Zombie” triumphantly returned from mandatory two-year military service in his native South Korea by knocking out Dennis Bermudez in the first round last year.

Edgar nearly got the chance to avenge the Ortega loss at UFC 226, after featherweight champion Max Holloway was forced off of the card at the last minute due to “concussion-like symptoms.” Ortega ultimately turned down Edgar’s offer, and was pulled off of the card entirely.

The Korean Zombie’s mandatory military service kept him out of action for nearly four years. The winner of Edgar vs. Jung will likely be next in line for a featherweight title shot after Ortega gets a crack at Holloway, whenever “Blessed” returns to competition.
