Miesha Tate is officially a mother.
The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion delivered a baby girl after 67 hours of labor. Tate’s partner, MMA fighter Jonathan Nunez, posted a photo of the newborn, named Amaia Nevaeh Nunez, via Instagram on Sunday.

Tate announced in January that she was expecting a daughter with Nunez, who competed on Season 22 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
“I’m proud to announce we are expecting a beautiful baby girl,” Tate wrote then. “Now you can sit and speculate… or you can just be happy for us. I’d like to ask that everyone respect the fact that (like we have been) we would like to continue to live our private lives primarily out of the media. I won’t comment on specifics so just know that I am very happy, very excited and my life has never felt so complete.”
Tate last competed in the Octagon at UFC 205 in November 2016, where she lost a unanimous decision to Raquel Pennington in Madison Square Garden. She announced her retirement shortly after the defeat. “Cupcake” captured 135-pound championships in both the UFC and Strikeforce.
Tate’s friend, Myra Fukuno, also posted a photo of the occasion on her Instagram account:
