Felicia Spencer: ‘I’m Aware of What Other Girls Have Been Compensated to Fight Cyborg’

Felicia Spencer made her Octagon debut against Megan Anderson at UFC Rochester on May 18, maintaining her undefeated record with a first-round submission victory. For the ex-Invicta titlist, it was about as perfect as a fight could go.

“Yeah, it really did. Everything we trained for happened. It really did go down perfect,” Spencer said to Sherdog.com.

Not only was it a dominant win for Spencer, but it was even more satisfying considering the fact that “Feenom” entered the fight as the underdog. However, Spencer enjoys proving everyone wrong.

“She deserved to be the favorite, she was already in the UFC,” Spencer said. “I love to be in that situation.”

After the fight, talks of Spencer facing Cristiane Justino next began almost immediately. Many thought the two could fight for an interim title, and “Cyborg” has even changed her Twitter handle to read Spencer vs. Cyborg #UFC240. But, according to Spencer, she is unsure what is next for her.

”I saw some headlines. I haven’t looked much in the media on her side,” she explained. “I know she has her wishes but I have to talk to the UFC. We have to see what happens. She made that a thing, so it is all about what the UFC wants. These are conversations about what is next. I’m aware of what other girls have been compensated to fight her.”

Spencer is back in the gym preparing for whatever is next, whether that be Justino or another opponent. For now, she is taking things day-by-day and seeing what the UFC want her to do next.

“It depends on a few things. There could be some opportunities for some things. But, I haven’t really thought of it,” she said. “Probably later on this year. I have a lot going on, and I haven’t had many conversations with the UFC yet.”
