So here’s what’s up for everybody asking
I do not have to have surgery!! I’m going to stay in LA and get stem cell injections in my hip on Monday. From that point I will have a 3 week recovery. After that I will be able to go back to training 100%.

It appears to be good news for Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight contender Dustin Poirier, who recently had to pull out of his high profile fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 230 due to a hip injury.
The Louisianan said he couldn’t train as effectively as he wanted in the lead up to the fight and had to withdraw. His opponent, Diaz, didn’t want the UFC to find him another opponent and decided to withdraw as well.
Poirier originally tweeted that he would be seeing a specialist in Los Angeles to get a second opinion on the nagging hip issue and found out that the injury is not as bad as originally thought and won’t require surgery.
“The Diamond” will stay in Los Angeles to receive stem cell injections as part of the treatment in his hip. After a three-week recovery period he’ll be able to get back into the gym and train again.
While no opponent has been named as of yet given the news of his diagnosis, there is a chance he may be able to sneak onto one of the cards before the end of the year although a suitable opponent at lightweight may be difficult, especially if Diaz doesn’t want to rebook the fight.
