Another fan-friendly matchup was announced for UFC Fight Night 139 on Friday, as the Ultimate Fighting Championship confirmed Donald Cerrone will take on Mike Perry just hours after announcing Frankie Edgar vs. Chan Sung Jung. UFC President Dana White confirmed the tip after an initial report from ESPN.
“Cowboy” (33-11) and “Platinum” are set to fight on the Nov. 10 card in Denver, with Cerrone looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Leon Edwards last month and Perry (12-3) aiming for a second victory in a row after taking a split decision victory over Paul Felder at UFC 226.
UFC Fight Night 139 will mark the UFC’s 25th anniversary, with the card being held in the same city as UFC 1 back in 1993.
Both welterweights are well-known as fan favorites with a tendency for violent finishes. In fact, Platinum’s recent decision victory over Felder was the first in his professional MMA career. The 36-year-old Cerrone has 13 performance bonuses on his ledger, spanning 20 UFC victories.
UFC Fight Night 139 will be headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. Chan Sung Jung.
