Conor McGregor appears to be growing restless in quarantine, and he has some thoughts on the direction the lightweight division should take in the coming months.

The former two-division champion targeted virtually everyone in the top half of the lightweight division in a Twitter rant on Monday. The Irish star began by calling out Justin Gaethje, who became the interim lightweight champ with a victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 this past Saturday.

The fans make the sport! Watching the other night I was against going in without them. But it will be my f—ing pleasure to display the power I possess with zero background noise for them,” he wrote. “It’s me and Justin next as Khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game. Guarantee it.”

The “Notorious” one then turned his attention to Ferguson, who was battered and bloodied by Gaethje en route to a broken orbital and fifth-round TKO defeat in Saturday’s headliner in Jacksonville, Florida.

“I love Tony,” McGregor wrote. “We represented him amazingly at Paradigm Sports and were betrayed for a promise of a baseball contract. But frame and preparation here was just embarrassing. His methods a d conversation are humorous/enjoyable but he was never the level perceived. Although tough.”

McGregor believes that Ferguson should next square off against Poirier, who lost to the SBG Ireland representative in a featherweight contest at UFC 178 in September 2014.

“It is Dustin/Tony next when Tony heals. If he does,” McGregor continued. “Dustin will beat him also if changes are not made. Which they won’t. Dustin, although game, and in the mix, will be fed to the floor again. Couple wins here/there then folded in half. Rinse and repeat — Dustin career.”

McGregor next returned to the topic of Gaethje. The newly-crowned champion has criticized McGregor in the past, and the Irishman hasn’t forgotten, as he threatened “The Highlight” with a severe beating should they meet in the Octagon. He also took a shot at Gaethje’s management. The Colorado resident is represented by Ali Abdelaziz, who McGregor has feuded with in the past.

“Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know,” he added. “Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to f–ing butcher you. Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a fucking necklace. Speak on my skills as a father? You are f—ing dead.

“Don’t ever say you represent the great nation of the United States of America ever again. No true American would speak so highly of, or allow, a convicted member of a Jihadi terror cell represent them. Never Forget! You are a fucking blind fool, and I am going to finish the job.”

Finally, McGregor took a parting shot at Nurmagomedov, who has been stranded in Russia during much of the coronavirus pandemic and was unable to compete as a result. McGregor concluded with a promise to move to 170 pounds after he has handled all unfinished business at lightweight.

“Khabib, you absolute embarrassment. Scurrying, hiding rat as usual,” McGregor wrote. “As I have said many times. As has been seen many times. Through the pane of glass it was confirmed what was always known. ‘No comment’ lol. An embarrassment to real fighting.

“After this division demolition job, it is 170 pounds.”
