Conor McGregor Denies Altercation with Machine Gun Kelly: ‘I Only Fight Real Fighters’

It seems that controversy has been following “Notorious”
recently.

On Sunday night, former Ultimate Fighting Championship two-division
champion Conor
McGregor
took part in the MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays
Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Irish fighter
had a skirmish
with Machine Gun Kelly on the red carpet,
apparently over a photo request from McGregor denied by the rapper.
The subsequent hubbub involved the security staff, who intervened
to separate the two men.

After the ceremony, McGregor spoke with Entertainment Tonight and
denied being involved in an altercation when asked about what
happened. Kelly — real name Colson Baker — has yet to express his
thoughts on the matter publicly.

“I don’t know,” McGregor stated. “I just showed up, and I don’t
know. I don’t even know the guy, to be honest with you—just rumors.
Nothing happened to me. I only fight real fighters. People that
actually fight. I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice white
rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about
him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

McGregor (22-6, 10-4 UFC) is still recovering after suffering a
broken leg and dropping a TKO vic-tory to Dustin
Poirier
in the UFC 264 headliner. The 33-year-old Dubliner is
1-3 in his latest Octa-gon appearances as he only stopped Donald
Cerrone
with a head kick followed by punches at UFC 246 but
tapped to a neck crank at the hands of Khabib
Nurmagomedov
at UFC 229 before losing back-to-back fights to
Poirier. The SBG Ireland standout has not yet indicated a time for
his cage return.
