Hiramoto, a former kickboxer who competed K-1, was making just his
second professional MMA appearance. While he showed no quit,
particularly during some spirited exchanges, Suzuki authored the
bout’s most significant moments, including buckling Hiramoto with a
right hand and a nifty throw that put his opponent on the
canvas.

In the co-main event, Hiroaki
Suzuki (2-1, 2-1 Rizin) made short work of Shoji
Maruyama (17-16-1, 1-3 Rizin), winning via technical knockout
in just 72 seconds in a featherweight affair. The man known as the
“General Killer” ended Maruyama’s night in emphatic fashion,
dropping his foe with a left hook and adding a follow-up soccer
kick for good measure before referee Minoru
Toyonaga stepped in to halt the carnage.
In other action, Kuya Ito
(11-7, 1-1 Rizi) garnered a unanimous verdict against Mamoru Uoi
(24-11, 2-2 Rizin) at featherweight, and Kosuke
Terashima (15-17, 1-0 Rizin) earned a split-decision triumph
against Takuma
Masuda (6-2, 0-1 Rizin) in a 139-pound catchweight affair.
