Both fighters confirmed the middleweight booking following an
initial report from
MMAFighting.com. The card will be headlined by a bantamweight
showdown between Cory
Sandhagen and Yadong Song
but doesn’t have an official location or venue.
A former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion and Bellator
veteran, Njokuani enters the matchup on a four-bout winning streak.
After earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, “Chidi
Bang Bang” has scored consecutive first-round knockouts against
Marc-Andre
Barriault and Dusko
Todorovic in his first two Octagon appearances.
Rodrigues, who is a former Legacy Fighting Alliance title holder,
has been victorious in five of his last six professional outings.
He is 3-1 in UFC competition and is coming off a first-round KO of
Julian
Marquez at UFC on ESPN 37.
