Capitan Petchyindee Academy Smashes Alaverdi Ramazanov in One: Unbreakable Headliner

Capitan Petchyindee Academy showed once again that there are levels
to the fight game.

One Championship saw its first title change in
2021 as
One: Unbreakable
went down on Friday morning. The main event
saw Alaverdi Ramazanov put his bantamweight kickboxing championship
on the line against Capitan. Right out of the gate, Capitan
relentlessly pursued his opponent with a flurry of kicks and
punches. Ramazanov attempted his best to contain his opponent’s
offense, but nothing seemed to slow down the ferocious
challenger.

In the second stanza, Capitan chopped down his opponent with many
low kicks, opening a window that he capitalized on. The Thai landed
a powerful combination, putting Ramazanov down to the canvas. The
Russian unable to answer the count, the referee called an end to
the fight at the 1:56 mark of Round 2.

In the co-main event, Shinya Aoki
(46-9) handed James
Nakashima
(12-1) his first official defeat by submitting the
American with a rear-naked choke. The fight started with Aoki
landing a series of body kicks, to which Nakashima answered by
pushing Aoki against the fence. Taking advantage of the
close-quarters action, Aoki displayed his grappling wizardry to
take his opponent’s back. Before long, the former One lightweight
champ sank the submission and forced Nakashima to tap at 2:42 of
the opening round, to earn his 46th victory of his career. A very
emotional Aoki thanked the fans for their support in the post-fight
interview.

Elsewhere, Rade Opacic crushed Bruno Sasano with a barrage of
punches in their heavyweight kickboxing clash. The official
stoppage came at 1:11 in the second round.

Earlier that night, Gadzhimurad
Abdullaev
(6-0) easily submitted former divisional champion
Zebaztian
Kadestam
(12-6) in the first round with a vicious neck crank at
2:08 of their One welterweight battle; Meng Bo (15-5)
recovered from a bad weight cut to outgrapple Samara
Santos Cunha
(11-8-1) as she won a unanimous decision in their
catchweight contest; to open the card, Lito
Adiwang
(12-2) rendered Namiki
Kawahara
(7-4-2, 1 NC) unconscious with a short but lethal left
hand put the former Deep champion down at 2:02 in the second round.
