After a bit of a hiatus, the Bud Light logo will once again grace
the Octagon for Ultimate Fighting Championship events.
According to broadcast partner
ESPN, the UFC has signed a new partnership with Anheuser-Busch
to make Bud Light the official beer of the promotion. While it is
reportedly the biggest sponsorship deal in UFC history, terms of
the agreement were not disclosed.
The multi-year contract begins on Jan. 1. The UFC and
Anheuser-Busch were previously partners until 2017, when the
company switched to Modelo as its official beer.
“Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light were UFC’s original beer sponsors
more than fifteen years ago,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a release. “I’m proud to announce we are back in business together. There are
many reasons why I chose to go with Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light,
most importantly because I feel we are very aligned when it comes
to our core values and what the UFC brand stands for. I’m looking
forward to all of the incredible things we will do in the years
ahead.”
According to the release, Bud Light will be “integrated into custom
broadcast features in all U.S. pay-per-views.” Additionally the UFC
and Bud Light will collaborate on content to be distributed through
the promotion’s social and digital channels. Bud Light branding
will also be visible at Fight Night events, Dana White’s Contender
Series, “The Ultimate Fighter” and Road to the UFC.
“Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light have always been on the cutting edge
of iconic sporting moments that fans remember forever, and
reuniting with UFC is a continuation of this industry leading
legacy,” said Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth. “As one of the
largest and longest standing sport sponsors, we are excited to work
with UFC to celebrate our passionate fans while always making a
positive impact in communities across America.”
