Bobby Green
will step in for Rodrigo
Vargas
and square off against Alan
Patrick Silva Alves
at
UFC Fight Night 177
.

Promotion officials announced the change in the lightweight bout on
Wednesday. Vargas withdrew from the contest for undisclosed
reasons. UFC Fight Night 177 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las
Vegas on Sept. 12 and is headlined by a light heavyweight scrap
pitting Thiago
Santos
against Glover
Teixeira
.

Green is 2-0 thus far during his 2020 campaign after earning
unanimous decision triumphs against Clay Guida at
UFC on ESPN 11 and against Lando
Vannata
at UFC Fight Night 173. Prior to that, the former King
of the Cage champion had been victorious in just one of his
previous seven promotional appearances.

Patrick had a three-bout winning streak snapped at UFC 229, where
he was knocked out by Scott
Holtzman
in the third round of their October 2018 clash. The
37-year-old Brazilian has not competed since then.
