A woman with whom B.J. Penn fathered a child in June 2019 has filed a paternity suit against the UFC Hall of Famer.

Combate was first to report the news, and additional details were provided by MMAFighting.com. Penn anounced the birth of his daughter, Mahina Amado Penn, on social media eight months after she was born. The girl’s mother, Camila Amado, has filed a lawsuit seeking paternity recognition and alimony.

Penn met Amado while training at Nova Uniao in September 2018, and Amado found out she was pregnant after spending time with the fighter in Hawaii in January 2019. According to the reports, Amado has spent a year trying to get Penn to recognize paternity, and six days after Mahina’s birthday she elected to file a lawsuit in Rio de Janeiro.

According to MMAFighting, a DNA test was conducted with Mahina Amado and one of Penn’s daughters in January 2020 and determined that it was more than 99 percent likely that they were half siblings.

Even after coming up short in a title bout this past summer, Jorge Masvidal remains one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s biggest stars.

The welterweight contender will appear on an upcoming episode of “MTV Cribs,” a documentary show that tours the private homes of celebrities. In the clip shared by Masvidal, the man known as “Gamebred” provides a glimpse of the American Top Team gym — presumably the show will also go inside the fighter’s home. Lungiambula initially announced that Roberson had tested positive for COVID-19 on Twitter, and the news has since been confirmed by multiple outlets. According to Lungiambula and other reports, the bout will be rebooked for UFC Fight Night 183 on Dec. 19.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the fights over the weekend. Santos was initially slated to square off against Montana De La Rosa at UFC on ESPN 19, but the bout was canceled when one of her opponent’s cornermen tested positive for COVID-19. Robertson, meanwhile, was booked against Andrea Lee at UFC 256 before Lee pulled out of the matchup due to injury.

Flick and Durden were also scheduled to collide at UFC on ESPN 19 but a non-COVID medical issue forced Durden off the card on fight day.

Shana Dobson will welcome the undefeated Casey O'Neill to the Octagon at a UFC Fight Night event on Feb. 20.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the flyweight pairing. The event doesn’t have a location or headliner as of yet.

Angela Hill has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to compete against Tecia Torres at UFC 256 as expected.

The strawweight fighter announced the news on social media Sunday night.

In the carnival-like world of combat sports, exhibition boxing matches are all the rage right now.

That trend will continue early next year, as retired boxing champion Floyd Mayweather and YouTube sensation Logan Paul will square off in an exhibition bout on Feb. 20. The event will be available on pay-per-view via Fanmio. The first million pay-per-view buys will cost $24.99, according to the event page. After $1 million sold it goes up to $39.99 and then to $59.99 on Dec. 29 and $69.99 on Feb. 11.

The announcement comes on the heels of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones exhibition, which reportedly drew more than $1 million buys for the 12-round bout on Nov. 28. According to The Athletic, Mayweather vs. Paul “has been in the works for a while.” Otherwise, details regarding the bout are scarce at this point in time.

Jack Hermansson paid the price for going five hard rounds against Marvin Vettori at UFC on ESPN 19.

In addition to a unanimous decision defeat, “The Joker” revealed in an Instagram post following the bout that he suffered fractures to his toe and face in Saturday’s middleweight headliner at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

“Broken toe and broken eyesocket but not a broken spirit,” Hermansson wrote. “The goal remains the same. Thank you for your support.”

Hermansson demonstrated great resilience in defeat, as he was dropped and nearly finished by Vettori in the opening stanza. The 32-year-old Swede was able to survive that initial onslaught and remain competitive until the final horn. All told, Hermansson and Vettori combined to set a UFC middleweight record with 286 significant strikes landed, an effort that earned the combatants “Fight of the Night” honors.

Rafael de Freitas, a former competitor on “The Ultimate Fighter 18” and a prominent jiu-jitsu instructor in Albuquerque, N.M., has been accused of drugging and raping a client, according to a report from the Albuquerque Journal.

De Freitas, who is known as “Barata,” has been jailed and charged with criminal sexual penetration stemming from a Nov. 7 incident after a female client captured the alleged incident on a security camera in her living room. Gracie is a primary instructor at Gracie Barra New Mexico Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Albuquerque and was part of Holly Holm’s team as recently as the former bantamweight champion’s victory over Irene Aldana at UFC on ESPN 16 in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 3, according to posts on de Freitas’ Instagram page.

According to the Journal report, de Freitas was also listed as an instructor on the Jackson-Wink MMA website as recently as Saturday morning before the page was removed from the site.

Jamahal Hill’s latest performance got the attention of the man many consider to be the sport’s pound-for-pound GOAT.

While former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones dismissed comparisons between himself and Hill, “Bones” praised the Dana White’s Contender Series alum following his second-round technical knockout of Ovince St. Preux in the UFC on ESPN 19 co-main event on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

When it comes to UFC roster reduction, Yoel Romero could be just the beginning.

The former middleweight title challenger was surprisingly released from his contract late last week despite reportedly having three fights remaining on his existing deal. The 43-year-old American Top Team standout is currently on a three-fight losing streak, but his last appearance was a decision loss to Israel Adesanya in a title bout at UFC 248 in March — and that matchup came at the request of the reigning champion.

At Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 19 post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White indicated that Romero won’t be the only high-profile release in the coming weeks.

The Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced that a proposed light heavyweight bout between Misha Cirkunov and Ryan Spann has been postponed due to an undisclosed injury suffered by Cirkunov. The fight is expected to be rebooked at an undetermined future event

Additionally, the UFC confirmed a previous report that a flyweight clash pitting Alexandre Pantoja against Manel Kape at the Dec. 19 event has also been scrapped due to a positive COVID-19 test for Pantoja.

Demetrious Johnson will get his chance to capture a title belt in another major promotion when he faces reigning champ Adriano Moraes in a flyweight title clash at a One Championship event on Feb. 24.

The Singapore-based promotion recently announced the announced the pairing in a release. Johnson and Moraes were initially scheduled to square off on April 10 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the bout. A location and venue for the event were not confirmed.

After besting Yuya Wakamatsu in his promotional debut, “Mighty Mouse” outpointed Tatsumitsu Wada and Danny Kingad to win the One Championship flyweight grand prix and secure a title shot. UFC on ESPN 19 is down to eight bouts after a positive COVID-19 tests resulted in the cancellation Taila Santos vs. Montana De La Rosa and Nate Landwehr vs. Movsar Evloev. Meanwhile, Jimmy Flick vs. Cody Durden was a late scratch for reasons unrelated to COVID-19.

According to MMAFighting.com, a member of De La Rosa’s corner tested positive for the virus. Meanwhile MagicM MMA was first to report the cancellation of Landwehr vs. Evloev and Flick vs. Durden. Evoloev tested positive for COVID-19, while Flick vs. Durden was scrapped for undisclosed reasons. The promotion is targeting Dec. 19 to rebook Flick vs. Durden, per Best Fight Picks.

Former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will attempt to return to the win column against Casey Kenney at UFC 259.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the booking. UFC 259 takes place on March 6 and also includes a light heavyweight clash pitting Thiago Santos against Aleksandar Rakic. A location and venue for the card have yet to be officially confirmed.

Cruz returned to the Octagon after a three-and-a-half-year absence at UFC 249, where he suffered a second-round technical knockout loss to Henry Cejudo on May 9. Prior to that, the two-time former 135-pound relinquished his belt to Cody Garbrandt in a five-round decision loss at UFC 207 in December 2016.

A former interim bantamweight and flyweight title holder with Legacy Fighting Alliance, Kenney has been victorious in five of his six UFC appearances. Kenney’s run includes a pair of victories this past October, as he earned decisions over Heili Alateng at UFC on ESPN 16 and against Nathaniel Wood at UFC 254.

On Friday night, ESPN reported that Romero (13-5) is no longer part of the UFC roster. According to ESPN, Romero had three fights left on his contract, but the 43-year-old is moving on. Romero is already speaking with other promoters to negotiate potential contracts, per his management team.

“While we didn’t expect Romero’s time in the UFC to end like this,” Romero’s manager Malki Kawa said to ESPN, “we are grateful for the opportunities Dana White, Hunter Campbell and Mick Maynard gave him over the years. In the end, it was the hand of Maycon Mendonca that was raised after the main event of LFA 96. The title win came after a hard-fought battle with Batsumberel Dagvadorj that delivered plenty of fireworks.

The action started early as Mendonca (11-4) rocked Dagvadorj (7-1) shortly after the fight began and followed-up with huge knees that visibly hurt the Mongolian.
