Two lightweight veterans will lock horn on short notice at UFC 258 when Jim Miller meets Bobby Green.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the matchup. UFC 258 takes place on Feb. 13 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a welterweight title clash between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. The main card airs on pay-per-view via ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, while prelims air on ESPN+ beginning at 6:15 p.m. ET/3:15 PT and on ESPN/ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Miller will make his 37th promotional appearance at UFC 258. The New Jersey native went 1-2 in 2020 and is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Vinc Pichel at UFC 252 this past August.

Green was productive during the pandemic, as he rattled off successive decision triumphs over Clay Guida, Lando Vannata and Alan Patrick to begin his 2020 campaign. Most recently, however, “King” was outpointed by Thiago Moises at UFC Fight Night 181 on Oct. 31.

Jessica Penne will return following a 20-month USADA suspension to square off against Hannah Goldy at UFC 260.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the strawweight booking. UFC 260 takes place on March 27 and is headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou.

Penne was sanctioned after testing positive for metabolites of stanozolol, 16β-hydroxystanozolol and 3’-hydroxystanozolol, synthetic steroids that are banned both in and out of competition. An initial four-year suspension was eventually reduced when the anti-doping organization determined that Penne did not intentionally take the substance to gain an advantage. UFC middleweight Abu Azaitar has received a seven-month suspension from USADA for multiple anti-doping violations.

Azaitar tested positive for tamoxifen, a selective estrogren receptor module, in urine samples collected on Aug. 25, Sept. 4, Sept. 9 and Sept. 17, the organization announced Monday. Tamoxifen is often linked to post-cycle steroid use in athletes.

Azaitar provided medical records that he was prescribed tamoxifen by a doctor to treat “symptoms” for an undisclosed condition. However, the fighter “lacked a valid therapeutic use exemption (TUE) and his subsequent application for a retroactive TUE was denied due to lack of sufficient medical justification.” Azaitar was granted a reduced suspension due to the circumstances of the case and thanks to his full and complete cooperation. Azaitar’s suspension began on Aug. 25, which means he will be eligible to return to action on March 25.

Before Dan Hooker left the Octagon following his first-round knockout loss to Michael Chandler at UFC 257, he left his gloves in the cage — normally the universal signal that a fighter is calling it a career.

In his first public comments since that defeat, Hooker told Submission Radio that he was simply caught up in the frustration of the moment. He isn’t, however, ready to give up on his MMA career just yet. The Polish promotion announced over the weekend that Pudzianowski will headlined KSW 59 “Fight Code.” His opponent and the event’s location were not revealed.

The popular heavyweight hasn’t competed since November 2019, when he defeated Erko Jun by second-round technical knockout at KSW 51. The 43-year-old made his MMA debut in 2009 and has compiled a 13-7 record with one no contest. All but one of his professional appearances have come under the KSW banner. Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki’s first event of the year ended with a bizarre knockout shot that resulted in a title change.

The KSW 588 main event saw Salahdine Parnasse (14-1-1) put his featherweight championship on the line against Daniel Torres (12-4). After studying each other for a while, the contenders exchanged a few shots to test each other’s chin. Torres showed his long jab, to which the defending champion retaliated with a head kick that partially landed. Rozenstruik recently announced on social media that the bout had been moved from UFC Fight Night 187 on March 13 to Feb. 27. Shortly thereafter, Jiri Prochazka revealed that his proposed clash against Dominick Reyes, which was originally set to top UFC Fight Night 186, has been postponed for undisclosed reasons. The Las Vegas-based promotion has not officially announced an update to the card. It is also currently unclear when Reyes vs. Prochazka might be rescheduled.
