Bellator MMA x Rizin 2 Weigh-in Results: All Fighters Make Weight

After a successful co-promotion last year, Bellator
MMA
and
Rizin Fighting Federation
are back with a second event.

Headlining
Bellator MMA x Rizin 2
is a late-notice 161-pound catchweight
bout that will be part of Bellator’s lightweight grand prix. Former
Bellator lightweight champion Patricky
Freire
will take on Rizin lightweight champion Roberto
Satoshi de Souza
in the main event, while the co-main event
will see Kyoji
Horiguchi
and Makoto
Takahashi
battle for the inaugural Bellator flyweight
championship. Rizin fighters will be looking for revenge as the
initial event went 5-0 in favor of Bellator fighters.

Freire (24-11) was originally set to face A.J. McKee
before the former featherweight king was injured. “Pitbull” is just
1-3 in his last four fights and has a tough test in Souza (15-2).
The Rizin champion is coming off a win over Spike
Carlyle
and is 6-1 in his last seven fights with a decision
defeat to McKee as the lone blemish. Both men made the catchweight,
with Freire stepping on the scale at 160 pounds on the dot, while
Souza officially weighed 160.6 pounds.

Bellator MMA x Rizin 2 will air on Showtime at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m.
PT.
