Bellator 194’s headliner is good to go, but par for the promotion, the weigh-ins were not without a level of drama.
Main eventing heavyweights Roy Nelson (265) and Matt Mitrione (255) both clocked in or at the heavyweight limit, as did co-features Derek Campos (154) and Patricky Freire (155). However, things weren’t so smooth for the rest of the card.
For her scheduled flyweight bout with Ana Julaton (125), Heather Hardy initially weighed in at 126.2 pounds, but was told by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation that she was good to go. Hardy began to rehydrate and was subsequently informed that she hadn’t made weight and was over the limit. Shambolic as it may be, Julaton will now receive 20 percent of Hardy’s purse on Friday night.
Beyond that, things went swimmingly and the rest of the Bellator 194 card will proceed as booked.
