Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships is making its return to the state of Mississippi, where it is putting a belt on the line, the lightweight tournament semifinals and a big headliner between ex-UFC fighters Jason Knight and Artem Lobov.
Knight hit the scales at 145.9 pounds, as he prepares to face “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 22 finalist Lobov (145.6) in the BKFC 5 main event this Saturday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Miss. Co-headlining the card will be a scrap between “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 1 standout Chris Leben (195.9) and Justin Baesman (188.2), and all four made weight without issue at Friday’s official weigh-ins.
Appearing in the commentary booth will be Sean Wheelock on play-by-play, joined by color commentators Chris Lytle and Antonio Tarver. Ron Kruck will serve as the host and ringside reporter, while Paulie Malignaggi will be featured as a special guest on the broadcast.
BKFC 5 “Lobov vs. Knight,” which airs live on Fite.TV on Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, also features the inaugural featherweight title fight between three-time Invicta Fighting Championships competitor Christine Ferea (125.6) and experienced bareknuckle brawler Britain Hart (123). A pair of heavyweights will throw down, as Chase Sherman (248.5) makes his bare knuckle debut against BKFC mainstay Sam Shewmaker (241). The lightweight semifinals are also taking place, with Reggie Barnett (134.3) facing Rusty Crowder (139.9). Rounding out the other side of the bracket will be Johnny Bedford (136.3) against Abdiel Velazquez (134.8).
Ivana Coleman, who will be facing Sheena Starr at featherweight, did not appear at the weigh-in ceremony but she will be weighing in later.
