“The Ultimate Fighter” will be returning to screens for the first
time since 2018, and now we know the names of those who will be
vying for a UFC contract on the long-running reality show.
The Las Vegas-based promotion on Saturday revealed the bantamweight
and middleweight casts for “TUF 29,” which will air on ESPN+ on
Tuesdays beginning June 1. Featherweight champion Alexander
Volkanovski and current No. 1 contender Brian
Ortega will serve as opposing coaches on the show before
squaring off with championship gold on the line at a later
date.
The bantamweight lineup is an experienced group that features Dana
White’s Contender Series alums Vince
Murdock and Ricky
Turcios as well as former M-1 Global and World Series of
Fighting title challenger Joshua Rettinghouse. The 135-pound roster
also boasts the youngest fighter on the cast, with 21-year-old
Brady
Hiestand.
The middleweight group doesn’t quite have the same veteran presence
but does include Miles
Hunsinger, who is unbeaten in seven pro outings with
appearances in Legacy Fighting Alliance and Professional Fighters
League and six-time Bellator MMA competitor Kemran
Lachinov, among others.
