The most controversial member of American Top Team has parted ways with the renowned Florida-based camp.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington confirmed his departure from ATT in a recent interview with The Score. Covington was removed from the roster of the gym’s fighters on the ATT website earlier this week.

“I’m not a member of American Top Team in Coconut Creek,” Covington told The Score. “I’m a member of Colby Covington, Inc. I’m a member of Colby Covington business and Colby Covington team. This is my team now. You can direct your complaints at me.”

Covington recently had public disputes with ATT stablemates Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier, and in the past drew the ire of other training partners for his comments about Brazilians.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has filed four trademarks for the “UFCSEA” name, perhaps another sign that the highly-anticipated “Fight Island” is close to becoming a reality.

Sam Stout and his family are grieving following the death of his month-old daughter, Sydney Love Stout.

The UFC veteran revealed on Instagram last week that his daughter passed away in her sleep. A GoFundMe page has been set up in memory of Sydney to help the Stouts with day-to-day costs, counseling and other expenses. The initial goal was $5,000, but as of Tuesday night, more than $28,000 had been raised. Sam and his wife, Jessie Stout, have a 6-year-old daughter named Logan.

Kamaru Usman is ready to defend his UFC welterweight title in July. The problem, according to the reigning champion, is finding an opponent who is ready and willing to accept that opportunity.

Usman was expected to defend his belt against Jorge Masvidal during International Fight Week before the coronavirus pandemic changed the UFC’s plans. The recent training video posted by former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson has generated a buzz throughout the combat sports world.

Tyson later revealed that his comeback plan was to have some exhibition bouts and donate the money raised to “COVID causes.” Shortly thereafter, Evander Holyfield began training as well, sparking rumors of a third bout between the two rivals.

Bryan Caraway is struggling to pay for his mother’s funeral expenses, and the UFC veteran is asking for help to cover costs during a difficult time.

Caraway has started a GoFundMe account to raise money for the funeral to with a goal of $12,000 . As of Sunday evening, more than $6,000 had been raised. Caraway’s mom passed away on May 12.

Max Holloway is using his talents and resources to help give back to the Hawaiian community during the coronavirus pandemic.

Holloway is offering the chance to win private training lessons and dinner with the former UFC featherweight champion in exchange for donations to the Maui Food Bank and Hawaii Food Bank. A winner — and four friends — will be selected through a raffle as part of the All 4 Hawaii Challenge.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone in the mixed martial arts community differently these past couple months.

Lorenz Larkin, who won his fourth straight fight under the Bellator MMA banner on Dec. 29, used the unexpected downtime to focus on other pursuits. Whether that was off roading with his 13-year-old son or working on business ventures outside of the MMA realm, the California native has done his best to remain productive as shelter-in-place orders put limitations on normal activity.

The condition of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has taken a turn for the worse.

According to RT Sport, the father of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is once again in critical condition and on life support at a military hospital in Moscow. After undergoing a heart bypass surgery, Abdulmanap had to be connected to a life support machine when his condition deteriorated on Tuesday, per “multiple reports” from Russian outlets. Abdulmanap awakened from a coma on Friday but is now once again unconscious and unable to breathe on his own.

Abdulmanap initially fell ill with pneumonia at the end of April and was transported from a medical facility in Dagestan to Moscow as a result of heart problems. Abdulmanap was reportedly diagnosed with coronavirus once he arrived in the Russian capital.

The UFC on ESPN 8 main card attracted an average audience of 1.198 million to ESPN this past Saturday, according to ShowBuzz Daily. The card took place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and was headlined by a heavyweight showdown pitting Alistair Overeem against Walt Harris. That figure checks in as the second-highest rating for a UFC on ESPN main card since the promotion debuted on the network in February 2019.
