Today’s UFC on ESPN 15 card has taken another hit, as Ovince St. Preux has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of his co-main event showdown with Alonzo Menifield.

As a result, the light heavyweight bout has been postponed until Sept. 5. St. Preux’s management brought word of the fighter’s exit from the card on Saturday. The former University of Tennessee football player previously tested positive for COVID-19 and submitted both positive and negative test during the week. Despite being asymptomatic, St. Preux was removed from the card for precautionary reasons.

There was a shift atop the Bellator MMA light heavyweight division, and it was seismic in nature.

Vadim Nemkov cut down Ryan Bader with a head kick and follow-up punches in the second round of their Bellator 244 headliner on Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, as he became the seventh 205-pound champion in company history. Bader (27-5, 5-1 Bellator) succumbed to blows 3:02 into Round 2, suffering his first setback in nearly four years.

Nemkov (12-2, 5-0 Bellator) conceded a takedown in the first round but was responsible for virtually all of the meaningful offense. The Legacy Fighting Alliance crowned a new welterweight champion at LFA 88.

The promotion pitted prospects Vinicius de Jesus and Jaleel Willis against one another for the vacant belt and it was Willis (13-2) that came out on top. The two men had a back-and-forth battle on the feet over five rounds. Ultimately, de Jesus (9-3) couldn't keep up with his foe according to the judges, who all awarded Willis the victory with scores of 49-46, 50-45, and 48-47.

The co-main event saw Aaron McKenzie win a thrilling bout against Glaucio Eliziario. McKenzie (8-2-1) was rocked early against Eliziario (9-6) after getting hit with a flying knee but managed to battle back into the bout. McKenzie would blast Eliziario and then lock in a rear-naked choke that forced his opponent to tap out 4:15 into Round 1.

The news first coming from MMA Junkie on Friday, Parisian (13-3) will be setting foot in the Octagon for the first time against Parker Porter (9-6) in the heavyweight division. Late Thursday night, MMA Junkie first reported that Ryan Hall has suffered an injury and has been forced to withdraw from his Aug. 29 scrap with Ricardo Lamas. The two were set to square off at UFC Fight Night 175, which will be held inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The promotion is currently seeking a replacement opponent for Lamas. The third part of One Championship’s return after the COVID-19 outbreak went down at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on Aug. 21.

The main event of One Championship: No Surrender 3 featured Kulabdam Sor and Sangmanee Klong SuanPluResort competing for a shot at Nong-O Gaiyanghadao’s title in the second bantamweight semifinal of the One Muay Thai tournament. Kulabdam did not need long to solve the Sangmanee puzzle, as he rendered his opponent unconscious in the opening stanza with a crisp left hook on the chin. Kulabdam advanced to the Grand Prix final, where he will meet Saemapetch Fairtex.

Absolute Championship Akhmat returned with its first event with fans attending live at ACA 109, which went down in Lodz, Poland, on Aug. 20.

In the headliner, Rafal Haratyk (13-3-1) and Piotr Strus (15-6-2) locked horns in the middleweight division. Haratyk started strong and pushed the pace early, landing several clean combinations. One of Haratyk’s hooks shook his opponent and knocked him to the canvas, and once Haratyk smelled blood, he unleashed furious ground-and-pound. The first event with fans of ACA will take place on Thursday in Lodz, Poland, in the form of ACA 109. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the arena will be only be filled at half capacity. The promotion was not required by the governing body to test the combatants for COVID-19, but ACA decided it would test fighters before and after the events regardless of the local regulations in place.

ACA President Alexey Yatsenko explained to Sherdog about the organization’s plans, saying, “Poland was by the first country to develop a protocol that allows organizing competitions with fans. Recently in Poland new relaxations of the regime related to COVID-19 came into force.”

Jon Jones doesn’t necessarily need to get a win at heavyweight before he receives a title shot, but “Bones” will have to wait his turn behind current No. 1 contender Francis Ngannou.

During an appearance on SportsCenter, UFC president Dana White briefly discussed Jones’ prospects at heavyweight after the light heavyweight champion vacated his belt earlier this week. Perhaps the most interesting takeaway was that White believes Jones has the credentials to step into a championship bout immediately.

"[Jones is] the longtime light heavyweight champion. In my opinion he's the greatest of all time, and if he wants to come back and take a shot at the heavyweight championship, I wouldn't have a problem with that," White said. "But he can't just jump in front of Ngannou right now."

Condit initially announced the booking on ”The Buck and Dex Podcast.” The card is expected to take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight clash between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana.

Condit is currently on a five-bout skid that dates back to a split-decision loss against Robbie Lawler in a 170-pound title clash at UFC 195. In his last outing, “The Natural Born Killer” suffered a second-round submission loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC 232.
