Ladd was scheduled to face Sara McMann
at UFC Fight Night 210 on Sept. 17, but the bout was canceled after
Ladd checked in two pounds overweight for the 135-pound clash. That
was Ladd’s third weight miss in the UFC, as she also came in heavy
for fights against Macy
Chiasson in 2021 and against Leslie
Smith in 2018. Both of those bouts were scrapped as a result.
She also missed weight for a fight against Jessica Hoy
under the Invicta FC banner in 2016, but that bout went ahead as
planned.
In addition to those issues, Ladd struggled to make weight for a
showdown with Germaine
de Randamie in the UFC Fight Night 155 headliner in July 2019.
Although she was visibly shaking on the scales, she managed to hit
the bantamweight mark. However, she suffered a 16-second TKO defeat
to de Randamie one day later.
The 27-year-old Ladd is 9-3 as a professional and 4-3 in UFC
competition. Her career resume includes victories over the likes of
Sijara
Eubanks (twice), Tonya
Evinger, Yana
Kunitskaya and Lina
Lansberg. She briefly moved up to 145 pounds but dropped a
unanimous decision to Norma
Dumont in the UFC Fight Night 195 main event last October.
