Andrzej
Grzebyk
might be the next welterweight championship contender
after his latest
Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki
victory.

The unusually short, seven-fight KSW
82
card was headlined by a welterweight tilt between former
Fight Exclusive Night two-division champion Grzebyk and Brian Hooi.
Mixing clean and precise shots on the feet with relentless
takedowns followed by ground-and-pound, Grzebyk (20-6, 4-3 KSW)
proved he was the best mixed martial artist in the contest. Despite
his efforts to outstrike “Double Champ,” Hooi (19-11, 1 NC; 2-2
KSW) couldn’t do much more than showcase an effective butterfly
guard that allowed him to get on his feet after being taken down.
In the opening frame, Grzebyk had the edge over his foe with
quicker strikes, shaking “Hooibooi” on a couple of occasions. In
Round 3, Grzebyk opted to pin his rival on his back after landing
some crisp boxing combinations. Grzebyk looked to choke his
opponent, but did not manage to lock the submission attempt in. A
last foray from Hooi turned out futile as the fight went the
distance. Eventually, the three cageside judges drew 30-27, 30-27
and 30-26 scorecards in favor of Grzebyk.

The co-main event saw former bantamweight titleholder Sebastian
Przybysz
bounce back from his recent title loss with a dominant
victory over Filip Macek.
Przybysz (11-3, 8-2 KSW) adopted a safe strategy based on attacks
from afar that passed through the guard of Macek (27-18-1, 0-1
KSW), who couldn’t keep the pace of “Sebic.” When the Polish
fighter’s leg kicks affected his foe’s footwork, the former Oktagon
MMA title contender attempted to move the action to the mat but was
denied by Przybysz’s solid takedown defense. Macek increasingly
struggled to contain his adversary until Przybysz exploded in the
third round. With seconds left in the fight, Przybysz advanced to
the crucifix position and unloaded a battery of ground-and-pound
punches. Referee Loic Pora
looked for Macek’s reaction for a while before calling the end of
the fight at the 4:51 mark.

Elsewhere, Bogdan
Gnidko
(10-0, 3-0 KSW) scored his 10th first-round stop-page in
as many outings after forcing Rafal
Kijanczuk
(12-6, 2-2 KSW) to tap to a slick armbar at 1:39 in a
light heavyweight clash; Raul
Tutarauli
(32-7, 1-1 KSW) defeated
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship
alum Donovan
Desmae
(16-8, 2-2 KSW) via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27,
30-27) in a 155-pound tilt; Anita Bekus
(7-3, 3-1 KSW) upended International Mixed Martial Arts Feder-ation
gold medalist
Aleksandra Toncheva Plamenova
(5-4-1, 0-1 KSW) on all
scorecards (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) R3, 5:00 at strawweight; French
155-pounder Wilson
Varela
(9-5, 1-1 KSW) crushed Gracjan
Szadzinski
(9-6, 3-5 KSW) with a knee-punch combination at
4:28; and Wiktor
Zalewski
(5-0, 1-0 KSW) outclassed Robert
Maciejowski
(6-5-1, 1-2 KSW) en route to a unani-mous-decision
victory in their 174-pound catchweight.
