Rising Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight
Andre
Muniz
has his sights set on who he would like for his next
opponent. Recently at UFC
269
, Muniz snared an armbar over Eryk Anders
to improve his win streak to four in a row. His last three
victories inside the Octagon have come by armbar, already putting
him with the
second-most in UFC history
. Currently a top-ranked
middleweight, #15 on the
Sherdog official rankings
and #13 in the UFC, Muniz earned his
place largely due to finishes of Ronaldo
Souza
and Anders. On Wednesday, Muniz spoke to Sherdog about
his ranking and who he wants next.

Darren
Till
is [ranked #8], but he is coming from two straight
losses,” Muniz noted. “I’m [ranked #13] but coming from four
straight wins, so I think it would be a fair matchup. UFC is
planning to make an event in London on March 19, and I would be
glad to face Till in his hometown.”

Even though “Sergipano” submitted two opponents in Anders and
“Jacare” that had never before been submitted, Muniz did not take
home a post-fight bonus for either triumph. The Minas Gerais native
plans on saving up to build a house, and he laments that his 2021
performances have not earned him any extra bonus checks.

“The bonus would be the exact amount I need to finish my daughter’s
home,” Muniz said. “Unfortunately, in [the] UFC, submissions don’t
have the same weight as knockouts. ‘Jacare’ and Anders had never
been submitted. I submitted both in the first round and was not
chosen. I hope Uncle Dana [White, UFC President] gives me a chance
in future editions.”
