Anatoliy Malykhin Annihilates Reinier de Ridder in ONE on Prime Video 5 Main Event

Reinier
de Ridder
bit off way more than he could chew.

Anatoliy
Malykhin
dethroned the Dutch grappler in an epic beatdown, as
he took possession of the undisputed One
Championship
light heavyweight title in the
ONE on Prime Video 5
headliner on Friday at the Mall of Asia
Arena in Pasay, Philippines. De Ridder (16-1, 7-1 ONE) succumbed to
punches 4:35 into Round 1.

Malykhin (11-0, 4-0 ONE)—already the interim ONE heavyweight
champion—was utterly merciless with his attack. He cut off
takedowns from de Ridder with surprising ease and assaulted him
with an unending barrage of power punches to the head and body.
Late in the first round,
Malykhin floored the Combat Brothers rep with a right hook and
followed him to the canvas, where he separated “The Dutch Knight”
from his senses with brutal hammerfists
.

In the co-main event, 2022 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission
Wrestling World Championships gold medalist Kade Ruotolo retained
his ONE submission grappling lightweight title with a unanimous
decision over Matheus Gabriel. All three judges sided with Ruotolo
(24-2), as the 19-year-old Hawaiian continued to expand his global
footprint.

Gabriel (48-11) managed to avoid being finished but offered nothing
of note from an offensive standpoint. Ruotolo was the aggressor
throughout the 10-minute encounter and made passes at a number of
submissions, including ankle locks, heel hooks and kneebars. It was
not as decisive as he had hoped, but he left the cage with his
championship reign intact.

Meanwhile, an accidental low blow from Murad
Ramazanov
resulted in a no contest with former two-division

KSW
titleholder Roberto
Soldic
in the first round of their welterweight feature.
Ramazanov (11-0, 3-0 ONE) executed a takedown a little more than a
minute into the match but failed to successfully corral his
counterpart on the canvas. Not long after Soldic (20-3, 0-0 ONE)
returned to an upright position along the fence, he caught a
close-range knee strike below the belt, and it soon became clear he
was incapable of forging ahead.

Finally, onetime King of
the Cage
champion Lowen
Tynanes
returned from close to a two-year layoff to capture a
split decision over ONE Warrior Series graduate Dae Song
Park
in a three-round lightweight showcase. Tynanes (11-1, 7-1
ONE) leaned on takedowns, positional advances and steady
ground-and-pound, as he recorded his first victory since Jan. 25,
2019.

Park (10-4, 5-2 ONE) struggled to string together meaningful
offense, found himself in an almost perpetual backpedal and
received a warning for timidity at one point. Tynanes applied
consistent pressure, countered low kicks from the South Korean with
right hands and overcame a brush with mild adversity in the second
round, where an inadvertent clash of heads resulted in a
significant cut on his forehead.

The 29-year-old Park has suffered back-to-back defeats for the
first time in his career.

In other action, Jacki Buntan (24-6) laid claim to a unanimous
decision over Amber Kitchen (18-7) in a three-round women’s muay
thai confrontation contested at a 130-pound catchweight; Edson
Marques
(11-2, 2-2 ONE) put away Eduard
Folayang
(22-13, 12-11 ONE)
with punches 2:53 into the second round of their lightweight
encounter
; Tye Ruotolo dispatched Marat
Gafurov
with
a wristlock 5:09 into the first round of their submission grappling
match at 180-pound catchweight
; Oumar Kane
(5-1, 4-1 ONE) took a unanimous verdict from Jasur
Mirzamukhamedov
(6-1, 1-1 ONE) in a three-round heavyweight
tilt; and Denice
Zamboanga
(9-2, 4-2 ONE) eked out a split decision over
Heqin
Lin
(15-5-1, 2-3 ONE) in a three-round women’s atomweight
affair.
