Alexsandro Pereira Wows in LFA 95 Main Event, Scores Stellar Knockout

Two-division Glory kickboxing world champion Alexsandro
Pereira
made a successful
Legacy Fighting Alliance
debut in the main event of LFA
95
.

Pereira (3-1) immediately hurt opponent Thomas
Powell
with a leg kick and started landing huge knees early in
Round 1. Powell (4-5) unsuccessfully tried to grapple with the
kickboxing great but got demolished with a huge left hook at 4:04
of Round 1.

The co-main event saw Myron
Dennis
face Dylan
Potter
, who missed the light heavyweight limit by over six
pounds. Dennis (18-7) was able to outwork Potter (8-5) in a tight
contest that went the full 15 minutes. While one judge saw the
fight 29-28 in Potter’s favor, “The Future” took the other two
29-28 scorecards to win a split decision. After the victory, Dennis
said he’s still improving at 31-years-old and wants a title shot
next.

Flyweights Lloyd
McKinney
and Victor
Altamirano
put on a fun bout that saw “El Magnifico” come out
on top. The grappling of Altamirano (8-1) proved to be the
difference as he was able to lock McKinney (14-7) in a triangle choke at 1:57 of Round 2.

Bruno Assis de Souza Filho
stayed undefeated inside the LFA
against Guilherme
Santos
. While Santos (8-3) was able to outgrapple Filho (8-1)
in Round 1, it was a different story in the second frame. Filho had
the superior cardio and was able to batter a tired opponent with
punches
until the ref waved it off at 2:16 of the round.

The opening bout of the night saw two undefeated heavyweights clash
in Mauricio
Blanco
and Jordan
Heiderman
. Ultimately, it was Heiderman (3-0) that kept his
undefeated record intact as he had a major grappling advantage.
Blanco (4-1) was taken down in Round 2 and forced to tap to a
rear-naked choke
at the 1:43 mark.
