Two Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight
grapplers with equal 92 percent finish rates will toe the line in
June. Seventeen years will separate Alexey
Oleynik
(59-15-1) and Sergey
Spivak
(12-2) when they meet at
UFC on ESPN 25
on June 19, per a report from Russian outlet
Vetnik
MMA
on Thursday. Spivak has since confirmed the heavyweight
pairing on his Instagram, with the
two meeting at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

The 43-year-old Oleynik is currently on a two-fight knockout loss
skid, with Derrick
Lewis
and Chris
Daukaus
both putting him away with punches. Against Lewis,
Oleynik very nearly had “The Black Beast” finished with a scarf
hold, but Lewis survived and blasted him in the next round. The
Russian submission magician sports an incredible 46 wins by
submission over the years, as one of the very few MMA fighters in
history to ever notch submission wins in the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s
and 2020s.

Spivak, only 26 years of age, brings an equivalent finish rate to
that of his opponent, but has far less of a storied career. The
Moldovan went the distance for the first time in his career against
Marcin
Tybura
in early 2020, losing a unanimous verdict to his Polish
foe. “The Polar Bear” went on to win his first decision over
Carlos
Felipe
in July of that year. A knockout of Jared
Vanderaa
in February extended his win streak to two.

UFC on ESPN 25 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on June 19,
and featherweights will serve in the main event. Chan Sung
Jung
meets Dan Ige in a
bout that will almost guarantee fireworks, and a few other main
card tilts in Dhiego Lima
vs. Matt
Brown
at welterweight and Marlon Vera
vs. Davey Grant
2 at bantamweight will likely do the same.
