Gegard Mousasi wants what former Bellator MMA middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko once possessed. It seems only natural that their paths would cross.
Mousasi tipped the scales at 185.75 pounds in advance of his three-round showdown with Shlemenko (186) in the Bellator 185 main event on Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Welterweight co-headliners Neiman Gracie (170.5) and Zak Bucia (170.25) also met their contracted weight requirements without incident at Thursday’s official weigh-in.
Bellator 185 “Mousasi vs. Shlemenko” — which airs live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT — will also feature a lightweight clash pitting American Top Team’s Ryan Quinn (155.5) against the unbeaten Marcus Surin (155) and a pair of women’s flyweight battles, as Heather Hardy (126) meets Kristina Williams (126) and Ana Julaton (125.5) faces Lisa Blaine (122.75).
