Former UFC welterweight and middleweight contender Till put his MMA
career on hiatus last year on the back of a three-fight losing
streak to pursue other ventures. “The Gorilla” made his exhibition
boxing debut against Mohammad
Mutie this past July, earning a technical knockout win as Mutie
was rendered unable to continue due to an injury. However, the
fight was marred by controversy thanks to a massive post-fight
brawl.
Meanwhile, Fury is best known for being the younger brother of
multiple-time heavyweight champ Tyson Fury,
and for being the first fighter to beat YouTuber turned pro boxer
Jake
Paul. “TNT” has since picked up a unanimous decision win over
another influencer boxer, KSI in his last outing in October 2023.
The undefeated 25-year-old, who should enjoy a partisan crowd in
his native Manchester, vows to earn an emphatic win over Till in
front of his home fans. Fury said:
“It feels great to, finally, say that I am back. I have been out of
the ring far too long. This is extra special as I am the A-side and
headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans…
Till had a good UFC career, but he is stepping into the boxing ring
now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is
out of his depth, and this is not the game for him. I plan on
dealing with Till in conclusive fashion and then chasing even
bigger fights in 2025.” (h/t BBC)
