Green (32-15) faces Pimblett (21-3) at UFC 304 this weekend in the
latter’s home turf of Manchester, England. The two have long been
engaged in a feud, which Pimblett claims started with Green
secretly recording him while they were in attendance at UFC San
Diego in August 2022.

While Green admits that he likely started the beef, he had his
reasons. “King” believes he and Pimblett have had a contrasting
career trajectory where he had to fight for his dues while “The
Baddy” had things handed to him on a silver platter. According to
Green, Pimblett doesn’t realize how privileged he is and acts
spoiled. Green claims Pimblett caught his attention when he started
talking brash, as he let his initial success get to his head.

“I’ve earned my spot. I’ve been here for so long. I think I’m here
12 years now fighting… I call him the spoiled kid,” Green said at
UFC 304 media day. “Certain kids that don’t know that you got the
whole house. Everything’s been built around you, and I think it
goes back for me, to where I come from, because I didn’t have a mom
and dad. I seen those kids act like that in school, I’m like, ‘Man
they don’t even know how they treat their mom and their dad. They
act spoiled and he acts the same way. He doesn’t realize the UFC is
working with him, giving him every opportunity. They’re building
you. I had to earn it. They had to put me through the fire, I’ve
been forged by fire. You, they built you, and there’s a difference
between us two.”

“It’s the spoiled kids vs. the real kids, the cool ones. He don’t
know that he’s getting the door open; he gets to walk through. And
all he has to do is shut up, smile and he’s the whole oyster. But
somewhere in there, he started getting brash. I feel like once you
start winning, you can get drunk off of it.”

One of most popular fighters on the UFC roster, Pimblett will be
sporting custom orange shorts for his upcoming UFC 304 bout.
However, Green’s demand for custom shorts was rejected going into
his 26th UFC fight
, after more than a decade in the promotion.
Green noted that he has stepped up for the company on short notice
more than once, including fighting Islam
Makhachev
in a two-week turnaround in 2022. “King” vows to
punish Pimblett more for what he sees as discrimination by the
UFC.

“That’s why I’m kicking his ass a little bit more. That’s what I’m
talking about, the spoiled kids. I’ve worked so hard for this
company, I’ve taken so many fights on short notice, broken hand,
this and that. Threw the company on my back a thousand times.
Fought a guy, had to comeback fight Islam [Makhachev] 10 days
later. I’ve done the most for this fuc*ing company to get my
shorts. But this guy just gets to walk in and get them. It’s like
wow, OK. That’s what I’m talking about. That spoiled sh*t. All he
had to say was, ‘Hey I want my shorts.’ They give him shorts. So
now I’m gonna kick his ass for that reason.”
