As it turns out, there was good reason for that, as “The Action
Man” likely suffered a torn hamstring in the waning moments of his
split-decision loss to Brendan
Allen
at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

News of Curtis’ injury was first revealed on the post-fight show on
ESPN+, and the middleweight later revealed similar concerns in a
post on Instagram. If the injury is confirmed, that could mean a
four-month recovery for Curtis.

“Not the result we wanted, but it is what it is,” Curtis wrote. “I
thought we had it, but congrats to [Brendan
Allen
]. Love you brotha and enjoy the night. But remember, it’s
1-1, you owe me the trilogy lol. Rest up and enjoy your family.
Thank you all for the support, and I’m sorry. I felt good, I was
ready, maybe I’m just getting to old for this s—t. Lol time will
tell. Until next time guys.

“[By the way] guys, it looks like I tore my hamstring. Popped it in
Round 2 and we think it tore in Round 5 at the end. We’ll find out
on Monday after we get some scans. Thank you guys for the
concern.”

Curtis initially faced Allen at UFC on ESPN 31 in December 2021,
where he earned a second-round TKO victory. Allen has not lost
since then, as Saturday marked his seventh consecutive triumph
within the Las Vegas-based promotion.
