Headlining
UFC Fight Night 238 is a five-round fight between Jairzinho
Rozenstruik and Shamil
Gaziev. Both heavyweights successfully made weight, with “Bigi
Boy” weighing in at 257 pounds and Gaziev coming in four pounds
heavier. All the rest of the fighters made weight as well.
This marks the sixth UFC main event for Rozenstruik. The
35-year-old is just 1-3 in his last four fights and is coming off a
loss to Jailton
Almeida. Prior to knocking out Chris
Daukaus, he also came up short against Alexander
Volkov and Curtis
Blaydes. “Bigi Boy” will look to show that he should still be
feared inside the Octagon.
Meanwhile, this is the first headliner in the Octagon for Gaziev.
The undefeated heavyweight is just 1-0 inside the promotion but has
little time to waste at 34. Gaziev impressed in his last outing
against Martin
Buday, whom he disposed of early in the second round. The Brave
CF veteran also holds wins over Greg
Velasco, Darko
Stosic and Pavel
Dalidko.
UFC Fight Night 238 will stream on ESPN+ in its entirety on
Saturday. The main card starts at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the
prelims begin at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT.
