After a two weeks of travel, the
Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the UFC Apex for
UFC on ESPN 38 without a lick of drama on the scales.

Headlining the 12-fight card is a lightweight tussle between rising
contenders Arman
Tsarukyan and Mateusz
Gamrot. Both aspiring title challengers made weight ahead of
their first UFC main event opportunity. Professionalism was on
display all around, as all other fighters on the main and
preliminary card also made weight.
The favorite coming into the main event at around -300 odds is
Tsarukyan (18-2), who hasn’t tasted defeat since a 2019 decision
loss to Islam
Makhachev. “Ahalkalakets” has dominated five opponents since
then, including key TKO wins over Christos
Giagos and Joel
Alvarez. The American Top Team product stepped onto the scale
weighing 156 pounds on the dot.
Since suffering his first career setback in 2020 against Guram
Kutateladze, Gamrot (20-1, 1 NC) has bounced back with three
straight victories by finish. His latest win came over Diego
Ferreira, who tapped out after taking a knee to the body. “Gamer” also officially weighed 156 pounds.
UFC on ESPN 38’s main card will air on ESPN and ESPN+ at 10 p.m.
ET/7 p.m. PT on Saturday, while prelims begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m.
PT on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
