After a rare week off, the
Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the UFC Apex with
UFC Fight Night 207.
The 14-fight card is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between
Alexander
Volkov and Jairzinho
Rozenstruik. Both headliners had no issue coming in below the
265-pound limit, and all fighters on the card successfully made
weight.
This is the seventh UFC main event for Volkov (34-10), who is
looking to rebound from a 1-2 stretch that saw him lose to both
Ciryl
Gane and Tom
Aspinall. The Russian showed he had more left in the tank
against Marcin
Tybura in between the two losses, but this is a key fight if “Drago” hopes to stay a heavyweight contender. Volkov officially
weighed 256.5 pounds.
The hype train for Rozenstruik (12-3) has also been stalled as “Bigi Boy” is 2-3 in his last five bouts. Victories over Junior dos
Santos and Augusto
Sakai are outweighed by decisive defeats to Francis
Ngannou, Gane and Curtis
Blaydes. Rozenstruik, who is the heavier fighter weighing 259
pounds, will look to show his powerful striking and get back into
the win column.
UFC Fight Night 207 will stream on ESPN+ in its entirety. Prelims
begin at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, while the main card starts at 4 p.m.
ET/1 p.m. PT.
