Shortly after Carla
Esparza edged Rose
Namajunas via split decision to claim the strawweight belt in a
lackluster affair, ex-champ Jessica
Andrade took to Twitter to criticize the fight.
“Any of the Top 5 would have fought better than the boredom
champion did yesterday,” Andrade wrote. “Shame on the division.
Worst fight in the division’s history. It was a disgrace to women’s
MMA, arena booing the fight. Fans did not expect this … I can’t
wait to rip your head off.”

Andrade, who returned to 115 pounds with a first-round a
first-round submission of Amanda
Lemos at UFC Fight Night 205 on April 23, pointed out that many
of the division’s other contenders are either already scheduled or
have previously lost to “Cookie Monster.”
“Well, I think the fight that makes the most sense now is between
me and Carla
Esparza, because in the division we have a [rematch] between
Joanna (Jedrzejczyk) and Welli [Zhang] at [UFC 275]. Marina
Rodriguez, who would possibly be a challenger, has already lost
to Carla, no this fight makes sense! So it’s just me. Come on! I’m
here! Available as always,” Andrade wrote on Instagram.
“UFC, Dana White, Mick Maynard, just tell me the day and place,
send me the contract, I’m ready. And Carla, could you unblock me
from your Instagram, because I can’t even tag you. I don’t know why
I bother you so much. We can resolve our differences now in the
Octagon.”
